Most of my life I have dashed past sweepstakes and contests with the attitude that it was a waste of time to enter for a chance to win.  But as the years went by I became more aware of just how many sweepstakes there were!!

A theory began to form in the back of my mind. What if a person were to enter ALL those sweepstakes?  Wouldn't it become impossible NOT to win something eventually? And wouldn't it be great fun to try!

And then a "win" happened to someone I knew.  The Manager of the Casual Athlete Store in Wichita, KS won a trip to Las Vegas for herself and her husband.  It was sponsored by Simons Malls and also included a trip for her District Manager.  Hey!  That was me!!!  I won and I didn't even enter!  What fun it was to go to Vegas and not have to pay for anything!

So, in 1992 I told my husband I was going to test my theory and start entering everything I could.  But I made him promise not to tell anybody, because I felt it might be pure foolishness! Less than three months later, I got my first nice win.  Eight cases of Pedigree dog food!  That was enough to keep me entering.

 And soon, I'd won a Big Screen TV from Lane Furniture.  There have been tons of small prizes along the way and some nice big ones too!  I won an Amethyst & White Sapphire Ring, a digital camera, a $1,000 Elle wardrobe, 2 telescopes, $1,000, a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, $10,000, two $3,000 Dell Gift Certificates, a $5,000 Pier 1 Gift Card, a set of Golf Clubs, 3 Weber Grills, a Gateway Laptop, 2 X-boxes, a PS2, a $500 Spiegel Gift Certificate, $1,000 from Albertson's, $500 GC from AutoZone, two American Eagle gold coins, & Northwest Airlines tickets.  In 2006 I won $90,000 in the Cottonelle Puppy Tracks USA Contest!  In 2008 I won a Dell Laptop and a $900 dishwasher.

I was a "team member" in the competition where my daughter, Donna won $25,000 from Mike's Hard Lemonade, and I tried to win some candy for her brother Randy, and he won a 2003 Ford Taurus from M&M's instead! 

A long time online sweeps friend, Nancy Parker, asked Catherine Pierowicz and I to join her in a team competition at Gamesville and the three of us shared the $25,000 prize!  There have been trip wins too!  We've been to Grand Cayman, San Antonio, Branson, North Carolina, Orlando, Cancun, back to Vegas, to see the Dallas Cowboys play and to an Atlanta Braves game.  As I gained experience, I learned that it was important to actively seek out sweeps with good odds, sweeps or contests that took a little effort, thereby eliminating some competition.  Although I haven't entered very many, I've won at least four recipe contests, three photo contests, a couple of short essay contests, some trivia contests....and not a single slogan contest, but I'm not giving up!
